"Mastering NFT with 30 Short Articles" 12 Discord

NFTs are one of the foundations of web3, and this series will introduce NFTs through 30 short articles to help everyone understand and master the relevant knowledge about NFTs from scratch.

In this article, we will learn more about using Discord, which is an important space for exploring NFTs.

In the previous article, we talked about some of the most common methods of malicious scams. However, since Discord is an excellent space for information and communication in the NFT field, we need to learn more about using Discord. But this is also a place where bad people deceive others, so we need to be aware of this when using Discord.

Discord is a chat space that is often used as a community by NFT projects. In the corresponding Discord server of a project, we can find more information about NFT projects, understand the status of the team, learn about community development, and communicate with community members. On Discord, we can send messages, make phone or video calls with thousands of people. In most cases, an NFT project will use a Discord server as its main base for the community.

If you want to learn more about NFTs and how they work, you should register on Discord and join the servers of projects you are interested in, because most of the information and communication of a project happens there. When you first use Discord, you may feel uncomfortable, but you can start by joining a few project servers, chatting with people there, and participating in their meetings. Soon, you will be able to adapt to using the software.

Regarding the security issues of using Discord, as we mentioned in the previous article, you should pay attention to links. Do not trust messages sent to you privately by others, because no project team will send content to you through private messages (usually private messages telling you to whitelist yourself, mint NFTs for free, or participate in a lottery are scams). As for links in servers, in general, project team links are more trustworthy than those sent by individuals, but you should also be aware that "project teams can also be scams." So, always stay vigilant and make independent judgments, and maintain a cautious attitude towards anything that can be obtained for free.

If you don't know which server to join, you can find NFT projects you are interested in and then find the Discord server link in their Twitter account introduction or official website. After clicking on it, you can join.

Alright, that's all for this article. You might as well find one or two servers of projects you are interested in, join them, communicate with community members, and check past information to gradually understand the project while mastering the software through practice.
